The questions we are asked most, answered properly. If yours is not here, write to us — we would rather answer it than have you guess.

Talk to a person

Support is email, and it reaches someone who can actually fix things. Include your account name, and an invoice number or campaign name where relevant.

Getting started

Opening an account and getting your first campaign live.

How do I create an account?

New accounts are closed at the moment. Leave your email on the waitlist and we will write to you when registration opens — no card is required then either. Existing accounts are unaffected: signing in and password reset work as normal, and an invitation from an account you already belong to will still get you in.

How do I create my first campaign?

Use the campaign wizard. It walks you through four steps — strategy (objective and budget), tactics (who and where to reach), creative (the ad itself), then a review before anything goes live. Your campaign stays a draft until you activate it on the last step, so you can leave and come back without spending anything.

Can I list my website and sell ad space instead?

Yes — choose "Sell ad space" when you sign up and you get a publisher account instead of an advertiser one. Opening the account is immediate; your sites and zones are reviewed before they carry paid advertising, because inventory quality is the thing advertisers are buying.

Campaigns and budgets

Controlling what runs, where, and for how much.

What is the difference between a daily and a lifetime budget?

A daily budget caps what a campaign can spend in one day and resets each day. A lifetime budget caps total spend across the campaign's whole run. You can set both — delivery stops when either is reached.

My campaign spent slightly more than my daily budget. Why?

Delivery runs across many servers at once, so pacing corrects within minutes rather than instantly, and a small overshoot is normal. If delivery exceeds your configured budget by more than 5%, we credit the excess — see the Refund Policy.

How do I pause a campaign?

Every campaign, ad set and ad has a status toggle on its page and in the list view. Pausing takes effect on the next delivery request, within about a minute. Pausing a campaign pauses everything beneath it.

Why is my campaign not delivering?

The usual causes, in the order worth checking: the campaign or its ad set is paused; the ad is still in moderation; the budget is exhausted for the day; the schedule has not started or has ended; or the targeting is narrow enough that little matching inventory exists. The campaign page shows status at each level so you can see which one it is.

Creatives and moderation

Getting ads approved, and what happens when one is not.

Why does my ad say "in review"?

Every creative is reviewed against our content standards before it can serve. Review is usually done within one business day. Ads in review do not deliver and are not charged for.

My ad was rejected. What now?

The rejection reason is shown on the ad. Fix the issue and resubmit, or create a new ad. Rejected ads never served, so there is nothing to be refunded. If you think a rejection was wrong, reply to us — a person will look at it again.

Can I edit a creative that has already run?

No, and this is deliberate. Once a creative has been served it is locked, because reporting and billing records point at it — editing it in place would silently rewrite what advertisers and publishers were paid for. Duplicate the ad instead: use "Duplicate & Edit" to create a new ad from the existing one, change what you need, and the original is paused for you.

What kinds of ads are not allowed?

Anything unlawful, deceptive or misleading; malware or cloaked destinations; unsubstantiated health, financial or earnings claims; adult content; advertising aimed at children; and anything discriminatory or harassing. The landing page has to match what the ad promises, too. The full list is in the Terms of Service.

Billing and invoices

How and when you pay, and what to do when something looks wrong.

When am I charged?

Ads.Mahhala is postpaid. You are not buying a prepaid balance — your campaigns deliver against the budgets you set, and at the close of each billing period we issue an invoice for what actually ran. You settle that invoice by card.

Where do I find my invoices?

Under Billing in the dashboard. Every invoice can be viewed in the browser or downloaded as a PDF, and each one lists the campaigns and line items behind the total.

How do I pay, and is my card safe?

Payments are handled by Stripe. Paying an invoice takes you to a checkout page hosted by Stripe — card details never reach our servers. You can also store a card so future invoices are collected automatically.

An invoice looks wrong. What do I do?

Email support@ads.mahha.la with the invoice number and what looks wrong, ideally within 30 days of the invoice date. Please do not raise a bank dispute first — a chargeback automatically halts every campaign on your account, which is a much slower path to the same answer. The Refund Policy sets out what we correct and how.

Tracking conversions

Measuring what your advertising actually produced.

How do I track conversions?

Create a pixel under your advertiser, then install the snippet on the page that confirms the action you care about — an order confirmation page, for example. Conversions reported by that pixel are matched back to the click that led to them and shown in your reporting.

How are conversions attributed without cookies?

We match a reported conversion to an earlier click by comparing the IP address and browser user-agent, within an attribution window that defaults to 28 days. It is deliberately coarser than cookie tracking: it can miss a conversion where someone clicked on one device and bought on another. We would rather under-report than carry a persistent identifier for people across the web.

Your numbers do not match my analytics tool. Why?

They rarely match exactly, for anyone. Ad blockers, bot filtering, different attribution windows and cookieless matching all pull the two counts apart. Our records are what billing is based on. If you think there is an actual defect rather than a discrepancy, tell us and we will investigate it.

For publishers

Selling space on your site and getting paid for it.

How do I join as a publisher?

Sign up and choose "Sell ad space". From there you register your properties, define the zones you want to sell, and place the ad code. Zones are reviewed before they start carrying paid advertising — if something needs a conversation first, we will write to you rather than leave you guessing.

How and when do I get paid?

Earnings accrue as your zones deliver advertising, and are finalised into a statement at the close of each period. Payouts go through Stripe Connect, so you will need to complete Stripe onboarding and identity verification before we can pay you — that is a legal requirement, not our preference.

Can my earnings be reversed?

Yes, in two situations: traffic found to be invalid, and an advertiser payment that is charged back after the fact. Reversals show on your statement and reduce a future payout. This is why we are strict about traffic quality — the alternative is advertisers not trusting the network, which costs every publisher on it.

What counts as invalid traffic?

Clicking your own ads, asking or incentivising anyone else to, bots or automated traffic, hidden or stacked placements, auto-refresh designed to inflate impressions, and layouts engineered to cause accidental clicks. If you are unsure whether a placement is acceptable, ask us before you build it.

Account and security

Access, teammates, and keeping the account safe.

How do I add someone to my account?

Settings → Team. Invite them by email and choose a role, which determines what they can see and change. Invitations expire, and you can revoke one before it is accepted.

How do I turn on two-factor authentication?

Settings → Security. You can use an authenticator app or register a passkey, and we recommend a passkey where your device supports one. Save your recovery codes somewhere that is not the device you sign in on.

I think someone else has access to my account.

Go to Settings → Security, revoke every session other than the one you are using, remove any trusted device you do not recognise, then change your password and enable two-factor authentication. Then email us — we can check the audit log with you.

How do I export or delete my data?

Settings → Data Export produces a downloadable copy of your data. Account closure anonymises your personal details; business billing and tax records are retained because we are legally required to keep them. The Privacy Policy explains exactly what is kept and for how long.
